Monuments and Cemeteries

The Netherlands hosts nearly 4,000 World War 2 monuments and cemeteries commemorating the fallen heroes of 1940-1945 (WWII Monuments), the highest density in Europe. Of these, Veterans Affairs Canada highlights 10 here.

There are three Canadian cemeteries: in Groesbeek, Holten, and Bergen-Op-Zoom, along with many other Commonwealth War Graves Cemeteries containing the final resting place of Canadian soldiers.

Visit: CWGC to look for a fallen soldier.

Commemorations are held annually to remember various operations, including the Battle of the Scheldt, Operation Market Garden (as part of Canloans),  and Operation Veritable, the Battle for the Rhineland. See our Agenda for upcoming events. You are most welcome to join us!
