RCL Branch 005 10th anniversary

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 005, “The Liberation of the Netherlands”, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013.

On Sunday 24 August 2003 the inaugural meeting of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 005, “The Liberation of The Netherlands” was held in Apeldoorn.

Present at that event were the former Zone Commander Thomas Andrews, Zone Commander Reg Bonner (then Deputy) and representatives of all other branches of Zone Europe. Also present were the former Canadian Ambassador to the Netherlands Serge April and the Mayor of Apeldoorn at that time, Mr. G.J. de Graaf.

In 10 years many things have happened and RCL 005, thanks to many, became an anchor point in the Dutch culture of commemoration.

The board of RCL 005 would like to celebrate this moment on September 8th. There will be a festive gathering starting at 2PM in the clubhouse of RCL 005 in Lochem for members, partners and special guests. Invitations already have been sent.
