Canada Day in Lochem 30 June, 2013

Traditionally Canada Day celebrates the birthday of Canada. On July 1, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its own constitution by signing the “Constitution Act”. In Canada, this date is a national holiday, which is also celebrated by the Canadians in the rest of the world. In the Netherlands most of the time it passes by, but for those who have lost their hearts to Canada, they always come together to celebrate it in small groups.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 005 organizes around this date on a Saturday or Sunday for its members a social gathering in the clubhouse, restaurant Mondani in Lochem. This year on Sunday, June 30th, everyone was invited who enjoys to “socialize amongst Canadians” while having a drink and snack. The weather was perfect, so the terrace was a lovely place to be in Lochem. You might try it next also year? Please feel free to bring acquaintances and friends and enjoy a Canadian celebration setting.
